There are many Twelve Step Groups that were patterned from the Alcoholics Anonymous original twelve Step program format. We have included a description of some of them

What is A. A.?

Alcoholics Anonymous is fellowship of men and women who have had a drinking problem and meet to maintain sobriety through the sharing of experience, strength, and hope. There are no age or education requirements. Membership is open to anyone who wants to do something about his or her drinking problem. (Info 520 623-4183)

What is Al-Anon?

Al-Anon is a fellowship of men and women whose lives have been affected by alcoholism in a family member or close friend. They help each other by sharing their experience, strength and hope.

They believe alcoholism is a family disease because it affects all the members emotionally and sometimes physically. Although they cannot change or control the alcoholic, they can detach from their problems while continuing to love them. (Info 520 323-2229)

What is Alateen?

Alateen, part of the Al-Anon Family Groups, is a fellowship of young people whose live have been affected by alcoholism in a family member of close friend. (Info 520 323-2229)

What is NA?

Narcotics Anonymous is a nonprofit fellowship or society of men and women for whom drugs had become a major problem. They are recovering addicts who meet regularly to help each other stay clean. This is a program of complete abstinence from all drugs. There is only one requirement for membership, the desire to stop using. (Hotline 520 881-8381)
